Tacho Rapado

I’m Ricardo.

I run marathons, love cooking and take considerable pleasure in eating. Especially when there’s good company at the table.

I enjoy trying recipes, baking cakes and figuring out what makes a dish work. Then comes the best part: eating well and feeding the people I love. I’m just as enthusiastic about filling everyone else’s plates as I am about clearing my own.

I created Tacho Rapado to share the recipes I love and help you make them at home. Recipes for everyday lunches and dinners, cakes that need no special occasion, meal planning around your goals, and meals worth pulling up a few extra chairs for.

The name brings together my shaved head and the sport I truly excel at: rapar tachos, or scraping the pan clean. I run marathons for the love of it, but if this ever becomes an Olympic event, I fancy my chances of a medal.

With recipes, I like clear quantities, useful instructions and the little details that help you understand what you’re doing. At the table, I’m happy with good food, conversation and someone willing to have another spoonful.

Pick a recipe, set the table and invite your favourite people over. Save yourself a portion first. Consider that advice from a competitive athlete.

From my kitchen to yours, Ricardo Fusco

A special thank-you

Tacho Rapado also owes a little of its character to my friend Pedro Miguel Xarepe. From creating the logo and choosing the fonts to shaping the website’s design, Pedro has been helping me bring this kitchen to life.

Thank you for your ideas, your time and the care you put into every detail.
